Tormenting and butchering bulls for entertainment belongs in the Dark Ages -not in 21st century Spain. I urge you to reject the initiative to protect bullfighting as a cultural activity. Cruelty is not part of our culture
I know what it feels like to be hurt, and I don’t want to cause that pain to any other person or creature. But somehow, in society, we numb ourselves in order to make money or to feel better about ourselves. We say to ourselves, “I’m going to use this animal. I’m going to say it doesn’t have much worth so that I can allow myself to do these cruel things”. And that just isn’t fair.
Richard Claxton “Dick” Gregory
Animals and humans suffer and die alike. Violence causes the same pain, the same bloodshed, the same smell of death, the same arrogant, cruel and brutal decision to take a life.
